The Alaric is presented with the 2001 Region One Communications
Excellence Award for the webzine newsletter, Carolina Communicator,
and a Gold Medal for on-time reporting consistency. Cmdr. Dale
Anderson runs the Sciences divisional meeting for RDC FCapt. Heim
and announces the winners of the third annual Region One Sciences
department awards.
0205.11 The Alaric begins holding the regular monthly meetings at
members' homes.
0206.15 This month's regular monthly meeting begins at the Botanical
Gardens of Asheville, with the crew exploring the garden before
adjourning to Sasha's home for the regular meeting. The Alaric
Council votes to change the Carolina Communicator publication
schedule from bi-monthly to quarterly.
0207.13 Instead of having a regular monthly business meeting this month,
the Alaric sends an away team to the "Space Toys" exhibit at the
Schiele Museum in Gastonia, NC. In addition to the Space Toys
exhibit, the crew enjoys the other museum exhibits which include
North American Habitats and Wildlife, North Carolina Hall, Henry
Hall of the American Indian, Robinson Hall of Earth & Man, and
the Lynn Planetarium.
0208.17 The Alaric spends the next couple regular meetings preparing for
Alaricon!
0209.14 In addition to preparing for Alaricon!, the fun activities
this month were: Chess, STTNG episode "Relics".

filmed a public service announcement for Alaricon! at the Asheville-
