The U.S.S. Alaric's Summary of the
Region One Summit 2001 - Awards and Recognition
R/1 RC Carolyn Donner and SFMC Dant Wade Olson:
The official awards ceremony was held Saturday night, but awards and recognition were also made during the closing ceremonies on Sunday. The Alaric picked up some great awards! Other award winners can be found by clicking here.
The Alaric was recognized with:
- a Gold Medal for On Time Reporting Consistency
- Best Electronic Newsletter Award (Carolina Communicator)
- RDC of Excellence Award went to me as Regional Division Chief of Sciences
I had submitted the July 2000 issue of the Carolina Communicator to the newsletter contest, but since the 0005 and 0007 issues contained a two-part Star Trek-James Bond parody ("The Universe Is Not Enough"), I sent the May issue along for story continuity.
Shirley helped out with Security at the Summit and was recognized with a special award.
Just look at that face! Mister Octotribble learned the hard way that you don't mess with this security guard!
