U.S.S. Alaric Trophy Room


While it may be impolite to brag and boast about yourself and your accomplishments, as long as it's in moderation there's certainly nothing wrong with showing a little pride in your ship and your fellow crewmates. It is with this attitude in mind that we have set this space aside, to remember and honor the feats accomplished by both the Alaric and her crew.

Regional & Fleet Promotions 


Stardate 8510.00: Captain Susan Bolick is granted a promotion to Commodore by STARFLEET HQ because of an outstanding OTS score. The next month she is asked by STARFLEET HQ to become Regional Coordinator of Region One. She receives a promotion to Rear Admiral and turns the helm of the Alaric over to its First Officer, Jeannette Maddox.

Stardate 8603.00: Alaric crewmember, Steve Allred, creates and becomes the first director of Starfleet Academy's Vulcan Academy of Science.

Stardate 8808.00: Captain Maddox becomes Vice Regional Coordinator of Region One and is promoted to Commodore.

Stardate 8808.15: The CO of the Alaric, Commodore Jeannette Maddox, announces her candidacy for Fleet Admiral (President) of STARFLEET. On Stardate 8901.01 she is promoted to Fleet Admiral and assumes office as President of Starfleet, turning control of the Alaric over to its First Officer Commander Neta Cox.

Stardate 9407.00: XO Janice Self is appointed Starfleet Region One Chief Quartermaster.

Stardate 9702.04: Captain Richard Heim is appointed Assistant RDC for Sciences for Region One.

Stardate 9806.06: Commander Ian "Krell" Johnsson named Ferengi Ambassador to Region One in the R1 Alien Ambassador Corps.

Stardate 9807.18: Commander Ian "Krell" Johnsson advanced to Senior Ambassador in the R1 Alien Ambassador Corps.

Awards & Commendations 


Stardate 8702.00: Starfleet HQ announces that the Alaric's newsletter, the Carolina Communicator, has been given Starfleet's award for best bi-monthly newsletter of 1986. Starfleet HQ also announces that the Alaric's shuttle Southern Star's newsletter wins Starfleet's award for Honorable Mention in the monthly newsletter category for 1986.

Stardate 8704.00: Alaric crewmembers in Asheville and Greensboro participate in the March of Dimes Walk-a-Thon. The Asheville group wins a plaque from the Asheville March of Dimes for "Best New Team" and "Best Walker Average".

Stardate 8704.00: Starfleet HQ announces that the USS Alaric has won the big one -- Chapter of the Year for 1986.

Stardate 8805.00: The Alaric receives a Distinguished Service Award from the Region One Regional Coordinator, RADM Linda Neighbors, for its outstanding performance in the 1988 March of Dimes Walk-a-Thon.

Stardate 9101.01: The Alaric receives Starfleet Unit Distinguished Service Award for charitable activities.

Stardate 9112.08: The Alaric receives Starfleet Region One Unit Distinguished Service Award for charitable activities.

Stardate: 9205.25: The Alaric wins Federation-Klingon "Blood Feud" blood drive for Red Cross, May 25-29.

Stardate 9301.05: The Alaric competes with local Romulan club in another "Blood Feud" blood drive for Red Cross and wins.

Stardate 9307.00: Month-long "Blood Feud" blood drive for local Red Cross in which the Alaric beats local Romulan club.

Stardate 9307.11: The Alaric receives Starfleet Region One Unit Distinguished Service Award for helping at Ballad Trek II and Trek-O-Rama conventions.

Stardate 9402.00: The Alaric wins "Blood Feud" Red Cross blood drive against local Romulan club.

Stardate 9412.15: The Alaric receives Starfleet Region One Unit Distinguished Service Award for charitable activities.

Stardate 9507.00: Cmdr. Susan Vaughn selected as the Region One Chief Science Officer of the Quarter, the Alaric's Science Department selected as the Region One Department of the Quarter.

Stardate 9603.00: Starfleet recognizes the Alaric's newsletter, the Carolina Communicator, as the Best Informative Newsletter in the 1994 Newsletter of the Year Contest.

Stardate 9704.13: CompOps Chief Ian "Krell" Johnsson named Region One CompOps Chief of the Year. Captain Susan Vaughn also won the Region One Chief Science Officer of the Year.

Stardate 9804.19: Captain Richard Heim named Region One Department Chief (Sciences) of the Year, and his Sciences Department newsletter, The Alaric Heim Page, wins the Region One Departmental Newsletter (Sciences) of the Year award. Commander Ian "Krell" Johnsson wins the R1 Summit Costume Contest for best Next Generation era alien.
